Obituary for George Benjamin Gomes Jr.

George Benjamin Gomes Jr.
George B. Gomes, Jr., 71, passed away to home on Friday, October 123, 2017. He was the husband of Rachel (Carraturo) Gomes for 30 years. Born in Fall River a son of the late George B. and Olivia (Viera) Gomes.
He was a Hoisting Engineer with a license to operate in both RI and Massachusetts for many years before retiring. In his youth he was a diver and a lifeguard. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, electronics, and especially his home and family life.
Besides his devoted wife, he is survived by his son Michael Gomes of Portsmouth; his daughter Holly Prew of Bristol and two stepsons. He also leaves for grandchildren and many Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral arrangements are private. There will be a Memorial Service at a later date.
